Please join us in Petri Hall at St. Thomas More Church on Saturday, October 2, 2010 as we honor Past Grand Knight Frank Alwill for his leadership of our Council during the 2009-2010 Columbian year.

Raceway Park Collection September 24, 25 and 26

Please mark your calendars now for the semiannual collection weekend at Raceway Park. Only a few hours of your time is needed for this major charity fundraiser for our Council . At the August monthly meeting of our council, there will be sign up sheets so you may have your preferences for time slots. Otherwise members will be called personally for the sign up by the council team of callers. If you are not able to make this meeting yet have a choice, you may call Deacon Jim Davis at 732-446- 2371 and leave a message for your preference. This call will be returned so you can be assured that the message was received. Please remember that all the proceeds for this collection are used to help others. In these times, much help is needed in a variety of areas.If you have not participated in this event before, you will find it very rewarding. Your participation is vital to the success of this campaign.

The Fall 2010 Calendar program will run from October 1st thru December 31st. Here is your opportunity to be a lucky winner by selecting from the list of new  NUMBERS  just released for sale. 9th annual Walk with Joe | Saturday, September 11th, 2010 @ 10AM | Monmouth Battlefield State Park in Manalapan

The Walk with Joe honors Patrick "Joe" Driscoll, a hero on Flight 93, as well as the other victims of 9/11. Beneficiaries include the Samaritan Center in Manalapan, NJ; the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, PA; the Christopher Gray Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of West Virginia; the Child Advocacy Center in Freehold, NJ; the American Recreational Military Services (ARMS); the Freehold Open Door Food Bank; Monmouth Battlefield State Park; the Monmouth County Mount Mitchell Park; Hurricane Katrina relief efforts; youth athletic programs; the RJM Foundation (a special needs youth organization); and non-profit organizations serving the Manalapan area with humanitarian aid and programs. Cost is $15.00 per person, with no charge for children under age 7.

Our Council holds regular Business meetings on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month starting at 8:00PM. Meetings will be held in the Fr. Valentine Parish Center, 8 Pine Street Englishtown.

Council Meeting schedule for September:

  • *Tuesday, September 7th at 8:00PM - Business Meeting (*special night due to Labor Day Holiday)
  • Monday, September 20th at 8:00PM - Business/Social Meeting


Our Council is named for The Messiah, Jesus Christ. Our members serve the Parish of Saint Thomas More which consists of Saint Thomas More Church in Manalapan, NJ and, Our Lady of Mercy Church in Englishtown, NJ.

The Pastor of the Parish of Saint Thomas More is Reverend Mark W. Crane.


Council History:

Prince of Peace Council #5903 was Chartered on December 2, 1966. Forty-Seven Catholic men were inducted as First Degree members of the Order in Our Lady of Mercy Church hall in Englishtown, NJ. The inception of our Council was originally discussed by Catholic Laymen John Dolce, Edward Hye, John Desmond, Vincent Hozeny and District Deputy, James Burke, in a meeting held at Our Lady of Mercy Rectory with Father John C. Petri in June of 1966.
